Filling the Gap has a team of volunteers who support our dental aid programs. They offer their time and expertise to treat people in need who cannot access mainstream services, including asylum seekers and refugees, indigenous Australians and disadvantaged people with chronic and complex conditions.
Over the past year, more than 70 volunteers treated 288 patients and provided pro bono dental treatment worth $313,732. The majority of patients had at least two dental appointments, and a large proportion of people needed specialist dental treatment over many months.
Through successful treatment and care, our volunteers have helped these patients gain better health.
