About Us

Building smiles. Changing lives.

Filling the Gap is a charity dedicated to improving the oral health and wellbeing of vulnerable Australians through free dental care and education programs. Supported by volunteer dentists and partner organisations, it focuses on helping those who can’t access mainstream services, including refugees, asylum seekers, and people experiencing complex social issues. We champion greater equity in oral health care.

Our Clinics

Filling the Gap delivers vital dental care across New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) through a networking of clinics made possible by our partnership with the Australian Dental Association Dental Health Foundation (ADA DHF).

Our main Filling the Gap clinic is located in St Leonards, Sydney, and is proudly supported by the Australian Dental Association NSW Branch (ADA NSW). This dedicated clinic is the central hub of our operations and services as the primary referral point for most of our clients. Designed specifically to provide care for vulnerable patients, the St Leonards clinic is fully equipped and staffed by experienced volunteer dental professionals who deliver compassionate, high-quality treatment in a safe and welcoming environment.

Filling the Gap dental services are also provided through volunteer private practices.
